Comic Kids on “Gloria Gabs” Podcast with Miami Community Newspapers
Miami, FL – October 24th, 2024
Comic Kids founders Reed Horth and Kat Barrow-Horth were interviewed on the “Gloria Gabs” Podcast through Miami Community Newspapers to discuss programming and the future of the organization. Dressed as Wolverine, Emma Frost and Supergirl, Reed, Kat and Gloria chatted about the origin story of Comic Kids, the children they serve and the organizations they work with. Comic Kids believes that a predominately digital model will allow more children in pediatric hospitals, homeless shelters, foster care, and those suffering from abuse and neglect to have more access to free art classes, supplies and curriculum. This year, Comic Kids began creating free weekly art curriculum in the form of coloring and step-by-step drawing sheets that are sent to numerous organizations serving children, based on the weekly themes Comic Kids is teaching. They also branched their programming into Atlanta and New York by teaching art classes virtually through Seacrest Studios, which are studio spaces in pediatric hospitals throughout the United States. Classes will be broadcast to patient rooms giving the most vulnerable among us access to art.
